Sorry about the delay everyone!  When you hear about our day you will understand why it has taken a little while to put it on the site!

Our day started out pretty quiet, with a visit to the town of Castiers.  The street market was excellent and there were a vast amount of stalls selling local crafts and general tourist items.  The town also had a fruit and veg market and a fish market which were pretty interesting to walk around.  A number of us came back from Castiers with presents for home which we probably paid too much for but just had to have!  We couldnt believe how friendly most of the stall holders were and they explained the meanings behind some of the crafts being made.  We learned about their national dress and the dolls that represent the single woman and then the married woman when turned upside-down!  It was good to meet the St Lucian people and talk about their country and culture.

On return to Rodney Bay and our hotel, we once again did a training session in the pool but it was more general training as we did not have any matches today.

After a bite to eat for dinner, we changed into our Hula outfits ready for the essential visitor experience on a Friday night in Gros Islet - the caribbean street party!  Our bus dropped us off at the entrance to the street party and we ended up dancing our way to the carribean regge sounds to the other end of the street.  We passed a number of bars and bar-b-ques selling local delicacies such as turtle!  Not everyone tried it and so it was certainly an acquired taste!  Not for anyone who has seen Finding Nemo - thats for sure!

All of the local people were dancing in the street and they welcomed us (whilst wondering why we were all dressed in hula outfits).  Some of the women thought it was a wedding shower until they spotted the men in our group!  At that point we had to admit we were a netball squad, but Arty, Stacy and Albert did look rather fetching!!

Our bus picked us up at midnight and we made our way back to the hotel at a sensible hour ready for our big day the next day.  It was a good night at Gros Islet and it was good to go out as a squad - albeit in hula clothing!  We began to feel the team mentality setting in and were looking forward to our first games of the tournament!
