Well, here we are on our first day of the St Lucia Tour!

We all met in Portsmouth at 0500 and piled into two mini-buses for our journey to Gatwick.  Yes, we were all tired but very excited to be on our way.  Some slept on the mini-bus others chatted and others just chilled out wondering when the journey to Gatwick would finally end!

The check-in was surprisingly easy and we had a winner for the maximum luggage weight - well done Marie!  At 24.7Kg she managed to avoid the excess baggage charge by smiling sweetly whilst acting innocent !!!

We all managed to sit pretty much together on the plane (we even let Stacy W come and sit with us!).  The flight was good and the seats were actually pretty comfortable.  The essential movie was 'The Hangover' and that provided a bit of joviality on the flight.  Movies were in abundance and whilst some people slept the others tried to cram in as many movies as possible - I think the record was 4 - not bad for an 8 hour flight!

There was a short delay at the airport whilst we waited for Anthony our driver to get there!  We think he may have stopped for a can of Lilt somewhere along the way....  After a 1.5 hour journey with some beautiful scenery and extremely windy and hilly roads we arrived at our hotel. 

We are 2 or 3 to a room and all the rooms surround a small swimming pool so we are all pretty much together.  We went out for dinner in the evening but it was a quiet and subdued affair as we were very tired by then!

Well that is it for now.  Apart from one thing!  It sounds great here but there is a tiny set back.  It only stopped raining once at about 1730 to 2030 and it has rained ever since!  We are looking forward to our training sessions in the rain as it will cool us down a bit (the humidity is really high), but it would be lovely to get some sun while we are here!  Who knows we can only wait and see!
